Here's What's Happening at the Shop...

Italian Country Cooking

May 28, August 14, 6:30-10:00 pm, $55 ($20 food fee included).

Lucia’s Sicilian roots have given her an appreciation for olive oil, garlic and herbs, and the wonderful flavors that they impart in simple dishes of fresh vegetables and pasta in the Italian country style. In this class learn to make a Mediterranean Salad with Lucia’s Olive Oil and Herb Dressing, Stuffed Mushroom Caps, Pasta Primavera with Roasted Red Peppers, and other delicacies. Come hungry.

Eat, Pray, Love

June 14, 1:00-3:30 pm, $35 ($5 food fee included).

The New York Times bestseller Eat, Pray, Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert, is a brilliant book, rich in spiritual insight. It is the story of one woman's search for her life as she travels across Italy, where she eats; to India, where she prays; and to Indonesia, where she learns to love again. Join Lucia as we follow her enriching journey through conversation and reflection, over a plate of delicious pasta.

Let's not forget!  This is an idea to stand by...

"Independent bookstores are as necessary to our cultures as good food and clean water are for our bodies.  In an age of fast and cheap junk food, we need to seek out the food that nourishes us.  In an age of corporate chains and anonymous internet mega-stores, it is important to support community based businesses; we can vote for the world we want every time we shop.  By buying books at our local bookstores, like Lucia's Garden, we are standing for integrity, vision and cultural diversity.

-Ruth Gendler, author of The Book of Qualities (now in its 36th printing)
